SEBRING, FL – Gun owners are continuously reminded to keep guns out of reach of children. What they aren’t told to do is to also keep guns put of the reach of their pets. One Florida resident recently found out that it doesn’t only have to be  armed people who can cause tragedies, but it can also be one of our furry friends.

Gregory Dale Lanier, 35, was traveling with a loaded gun and his dog in his pickup truck. The dog accidentally kicked the gun lying on the floor and the gun let off a shot. Lanier was shot in his leg according to a report by the Highlands Today.

Lanier was not seriously injured.
