Wal-Mart Presses Felony Charge For Snack

PORTAGE, IN. (KTVI) – The cookie is certainly crumbling for one former Wal-Mart employee who was fired after allegedly stealing Oreos.

The nation’s largest private employer isn’t taking the cookie caper likely. Penny Winters, 63, will face a felony theft charge. The Portage location began an internal investigation after an empty wrapper was found according to The Smoking Gun.

Winters had been been a maintenance worker with the company and reportedly admitted to eating the cookies. She also admitted to helping herself to other snack foods from the store over the last 7 months according to a report obtained from the Portage Police Department.
