(KTVI) – Josh Hamilton of the Los Angeles Angels has begun his tenure with his new team by taking one last second jab at his old squad. The newly acquired slugger took a shot at the Dallas-Fort Worth area saying they “are not a baseball town.”

The Outfielder’s comments describing his former fan-base came during the opening of the Angels’ spring training in an interview with CBS Dallas-Fort Worth. Hamilton also filled CBS in on details of his brief stretch as a free agent and why he chose the Anaheim as his next destination in his playing career.

The Angels of Anaheim made an aggressive move to sign Hamilton from their conference rivals the Texas Rangers during the off-season. His exit from the Dallas-Fort Worth area concluded a stint with the Rangers that last half a decade.
