Body Found In Search for Missing Woman in KC Explosion

KANSAS CITY, MO.  (WDAF) –  Crews recovered a body Wednesday morning from the site of an explosion in Kansas City on Tuesday.  The body was found near the bar of JJ’s Restaurant .

Authorities resumed searching for a missing woman early Wednesday morning. reports authorities have not confirmed the identity of the body found, but sources tell the news station it was a woman’s body.

Fifteen people were injured, some critically, in Tuesday’s blast that rocked the west side of the Country Club Plaza. It took fire crews about an hour to get the blaze under control.   Officials say the cause of the blast is under investigation, but Kansas City’s Missouri Gas and Engery says it was caused when a contractor doing underground work hit a natural gas line.
