(KTVI) – The planet Mercury is putting on a special show this month. Starting on February 11th the planet will become visible as a low pink dot in the sky. According to it will appear just below the crescent moon. Mars will be visible just below Mercury in the twilight sky.

The planet mercury is only slightly larger than planet Earth’s moon. The planet is the closest to the sun and surface temperatures there can reach 840 degrees. Night time temperatures can dip to minus 2775 degrees. This is because there is no substantial atmosphere to trap heat.
