All Clear On Lewis & Clark Campus After Reported Gun Sighting

GODFREY, IL (KTVI) – The campus of Lewis and Clark Community College was placed on lock-down at 11:00am on Monday after a student thought see saw a man with a gun on campus. The student saw what she thought was another student with a gun in the Math/Science building.  The student sent a text to her sister who called the Madison County Sheriff.

The Sheriff’s Department responded and determined that man was an off-duty police officer with ID and a permit to carry a gun. The lock-down was canceled at approximately 11:24am.

Lewis and Clark Community College did remark that the school was happy that their emergency procedures worked as intended.
