WATERLOO, IL (KTVI) - Funeral services were held Friday for three hikers who died of exposure last weekend in Reynolds County.  David Decareaux, 36, and his sons Dominic, 10, and Grant, 8, got lost on the Ozark Trail Saturday.

Their hike started in warm weather but when rain and cold set in, they were stuck outside and died from hypothermia.

The funeral was at 9:30 a.m. at the Quernheim Funeral Home in Waterloo, IL.   Decareaux and his sons were buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy, the family prefers memorial contributions to:  Decareaux Family Fund c/o 1st National Bank P.O. Box 507 Waterloo, IL or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
