Murder Suspect Taken Into Custody After 3-Hour Standoff

DELLWOOD, MO (KTVI)-  A murder suspect is behind bars after an overnight standoff in Dellwood. 

Authorities say the standoff lasted nearly three hours before it ended peacefully. the suspect was found hiding in the trunk of a car.  The incident started around 12:00 midnight at a home on Dowd Drive in Dellwood.  Police originally got the call for a barricaded suspect.

The SWAT Team was called in on officers got on the scene.  Eventually, authorities were able to make contact with the suspect and they learned he was in the trunk of a car in the home's garage.

Officials say the man surrendered without a fight. He was taken into custody around 2:45 a.m.  Wednesday.  Investigators say the man is a suspect in a murder that happened in Kinloch on Tuesday.

The body of a man was found on Gregory around 5 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. There are very few details in that case but police do confirm the victim was shot.
