ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - It was a violent weekend in the city of St. Louis. Homicide detectives are investigating at least four murders since early Saturday morning.
The latest two killings happened late Sunday night.
Police say Sunday morning they have no suspects in custody in connection with any of the murders. They also have no indications any of the murders are connected.
The latest two killings happened less than hour apart Sunday night.
The first took place around 10:30pm Sunday on Laura in north St. Louis. Police say an 18-year-old black man was shot in the upper back. He ran to a nearby gas station on Goodfellow where an attendant called an ambulance. The teen was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Then just after 11:15pm Sunday, a 48-year-old black male was shot as he was riding his bicycle on Garrison and Natural Bridge. Officers found the victim in the street lying on his bike after responding to the area for a person down call. He was shot in the mouth area and was pronounced dead at the scene. Two shell casings were found next to the victim.
The other two murders happened Saturday night and early Saturday morning – both also in north St. Louis.
There was also fifth man discovered dead inside a car on Riverview Sunday afternoon. Investigators say homicide detectives are not handling the case at this point.
Police say the man is in his 30s and there were no apparent signs of trauma.
