ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) - St. Louis police released more information Thursday about the death of Ebony Jackson, the missing mother whose baby was found alone in an apartment building.

Authorities now say Jackson was shot in the head. Police had initially reported that Jackson was shot in the neck.

The search for Jackson started after her 4-month-old son was found alone in a Breckenridge Hills apartment complex last week.  On Tuesday, her body was found inside the trunk of a car in North St. Louis.  A GPS that was installed on her car helped police locate the vehicle and has given them more information on where the car had been.

Investigators still want to identify the mystery person that Jackson was with last Thursday.  The 30-year-old mother told relatives she was with a friend in Fairview Heights, Illinois.  Jackson indicated she was going to visit a cousin in St. John, Missouri, but she never arrived.

Authorities say there is no known connecting between Jackson and that apartment complex her son was found in.  A man claiming to be the child's father came to St. Louis after the baby's picture was put on television.   Authorities expect results of a paternity test to be available on Thursday.   VIDEO - Father Of Abandoned Baby's Facebook Post
