St. Louis Makes “Drunkest Cities” List

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) –  Bottoms up?  We’ve got the breweries, now we have a place on the list of 25 Drunkest Cities of 2012.  On the list, put together by The Daily, St. Louis came in at # 23.

They used data on the average number of alcoholic beverages per month, per adult in each metro area. The Daily Best also used data from the CDC on binge drinking and heavy drinkers. The average alcoholic drinks consumed by adults per month was 13.4 according to the study.
Eighteen percent of the population was classified as ‘binge’ drinkers and another 6 percent were classified as ‘heavy’ drinkers.

The city of Boston topped the list with an average of 15.6 drinks consumers by adults per month.  Northfolk, Va., Milwaukee, Charleston, S.C., and Austin, TX. rounded out the top five.
