One Dead In Multi-Vehicle Crash In Hazelwood

HAZELWOOD, MO (KTVI) – One person died in an accident on Interstate 270 in Hazelwood Friday morning.The Missouri Highway Patrol says a Plymouth Neon had mechanical trouble and was being pushed off the road by a Pontiac Grand Am.  They were trying to get the vehicle out of traffic.

A semi-truck hit the Grand Am in the rear, and the Neon in the right rear, totalling both cars.  The driver of the Grand Am was killed.  He is identified as Talbert Brooks, 48, of St. Louis.

The accident happened in the northbound lanes near McDonnell Blvd. The interstate was closed for about two hours during accident cleanup and reconstruction.
