ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – A company named Lumosity ranked Washington University in St. Louis as one of America’s Smartest Colleges.
Many people turn to the brain games on Lumosity.com to stay sharp. But the neuroscience company based in San Francisco, California just announced the results of a study at 400 of the nation’s colleges. Washington University ranked sixth, beating Princeton, Vassar and Johns-Hopkins.
Many students look at average SAT and ACT scores for incoming freshmen to see if a school is a good fit. Lumosity researchers say they test for memory, processing speed, flexibility, attention and problem solving. They add, their results closely follow standardized-test scores, so the study does have real-world implications.
