(KPLR) - A year of inconvenience begins today for drivers who use the Blanchette Bridge.
Here's JB with The Way It Oughta Be.

I hope you don't have to carry a chair across the Blanchette Bridge next week.  Driving here will be bad enough.

MoDot is shoving all of the traffic onto one of the spans so they can repair the other one.

It's going to last about a year.

There will be a handful of times when all of the bridge will shut down but for the most part three slow lanes in each direction will be open.

MoDot says the only way the project will work is if some drivers change their habits.

All I know is that we've survived highway shutdowns before.  So before everyone panics.

Consider the alternate routes, 370 and the Page Avenue Extension.

And turn the stress meter down.  We don't need any more road rage.

I'm JB and that's The Way It Oughta Be.
