Politics Lands Bishop In Hot Water

(KPLR) – The pulpit and politics landed a Wisconsin bishop in hot water.  Bishop David Ricken sent a letter to Catholics in his area last week, spelling out what issues to vote against, like abortion and gay marriage.

He went on to say, to vote for someone in favor of these positions means that you could be morally ‘complicit’ with these choices which are evil. This could put your own soul in jeopardy.”

Ricken clarified his position, saying he is not targeting any candidates.

Neither presidential campaign would comment on the bishop’s letter.
