ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - An early-morning armed robbery in West St. Louis leads to a lengthy police chase with shots fired at officers. Police have one suspect in custody and are looking for another one.

This all started about 12:30 a.m. Friday when police say one of the two suspect robbed a woman he knows at gunpoint on Delmar in St. Louis City.  Investigators say he stole a lot of money from her, possibly thousands of dollars. Then officers say the suspect jumped into a stolen pick up with a second man and took off.

Police spotted the truck a short time after the robbery and a chase started. The pursuit when on for some 35 minutes through many north city areas. Police say the truck got on and off of Interstate 70 and went down lots of city streets.

Investigators tell us during the chase, the suspects shot at police two different times including once on I-70 and Salisbury. No officers were hit and they did not fire back.  Eventually, the suspects bailed from the pick up at an apartment complex on Euclid Terrace in North St. Louis.

Police found one suspect in one of the unites after about a 25 minute search of the complex. He was arrested. The second suspect got away but we're told police have a good idea of who he is and are looking for him.

No names are being released. We are told the suspect in custody is in his mid 20s. Nobody was hurt in the entire incident.
