O’FALLON, MO (KPLR) - The empty O’ Fallon Park Recreation Center will be empty no more. The feud between St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay and Alderman Antonio French over the contract for operating the recreation center is over.

The brand new 20 million dollar facility in O' Fallon Park was completed more than two months ago but it is still closed. Alderman French complained that the contract Mayor Slay had with the YMCA to operate it didn't detail discounts for memberships to his 21st ward residents.

Monday, the Mayor announced the Boys and Girls Club of greater St. Louis will partner with the YMCA to provide programs for children. Both organizations will offer $25 yearly memberships to 1,300 low income children. In addition, families will be offered discounts from 10 to 90 percent depending on their need contract, the new recreational center in O'Fallon Park should be open early next year.
