ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) - A pair of overnight shootings in St. Louis have left two people dead and a killer on the run.  The shootings happened almost simultaneously, around 1:15 am, but on opposite sides of the city.

In south St. Louis, gunfire broke out in an alley adjacent to a home on Pennsylvania, near Fillmore.  The home there appears to house some kind of business, with a number of construction-style trucks parked nearby.  Neighbors told FOX 2 they thought someone might have been trying to break into one of the vehicles.  There's no word on whether that had anything to do with the shooting.  Police say they have no suspects in the case.

Meanwhile, in north St. Louis a man was shot to death with a shotgun on Hiller Place, not far from West Florissant.  The man police believe fired the fatal shot took off on foot, but was captured by officers a couple of blocks from the scene of the shooting.
