(KPLR) - A convenience many shoppers use just got less expensive, at least at one chain department store.  Starting Tuesday, Toys R Us says its waiving the service fee and minimum purchase requirements.

Wal-mart said last month it's expanding it's own layaway program due to high customer demand, but there is still a minimum purchase requirement and a fifteen dollar fee.
The layaway program is the latest effort by brick-and-mortar stores which face increasingly tough competition from online retailers.
