(KPLR) - In case you forgot what rain is, we got a refresher course over the weekend thanks to the remnants of Isaac.

It's a perfect time to talk about what the Metropolitan Sewer District is doing to handle things like rainwater.

Lance Lecomb is with MSD and talked about MSD's Green Infrastructure program.

Examples of green infrastructure include:

  • Rain gardens
  • Porous pavements
  • Green roofs
  • Infiltration planters
  • Trees and tree boxes
  • Rainwater harvesting (rain barrels)
