(KPLR) - Where did fear of the dark come from? Are we born with this fear of the unknown? Or did we learn to be afraid of what could happen to use in the dark?  Other thing is for sure, it can mess with your sleep.

According to new research published in the Journal Sleep, nearly half of adults with sleep problems were shown to have a fear of the dark.

Dr. Joseph Ojile from the Clayton Sleep Institute sheds some light on the issue.
