ARNOLD, MO (KTVI) - There are questions in Arnold after a baby was taken from an apartment there Sunday night. Neighbors described the child as appearing lifeless,  but so far official word on her condition.

Neighbors want to know exactly what happened behind closed doors involving the child. It was Sunday afternoon when police stormed an apartment on Crosswinds Drive. There was an ambulance waiting outside and soon police emerged with the baby.

Witnesses say the child wasn't moving as she was taken to the ambulance. Now, to this point, police haven't commented on the child's condition.  We don't know the extent of her injuries. But the night before, witnesses heard what they describe as crying and screaming coming from the apartment and that has people very nervous for the child.

Neighbors say police also took a barbecue grill out of the apartment as well. But at this point, police have not made any comments on the case.

Resident gathered outside the apartment and held a candlelight vigil.
