ST. LOUIS, MO. (KPLR) – Te wet weather weekend didn't stop some St. Louisians from getting out and enjoying that last bit of summer.
News 11's Patrick Clark joins us now live with some folks carrying on a central west end tradition.
Labor Day weekend is coming to a close and fall is just around the corner. But we decided to stop here at the Greek festival and find some folks trying to squeeze in every last bit of summer fun.
Drips, drops, and downpours.
Mother Nature tried to be a wet blanket for St. Louisians set on enjoying summer's last hurrah.
But that didn't stop some, including myself, from bouncing down to the landing for the 17th annual big muddy blues festival.
Dr. John, Joe Louis Walker and slew of local all stars helped make it a toe-tapping fun time.
And for those more in step with a two-step, Toby Keith took over the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater on Saturday.
Meanwhile today, Missouri Veterans were honored at the second annual Veterans Festival in Forest Park.
From tanks to giving thanks, that's what this festival is all about.
And the 95th annual Greek festival at St. Nicholas Church had a steady stream of St. Louisians trying out some Greek dishes.
If you want to try and squeeze in just a little bit more summer and another bite of baklava, the Greek fest is still going on until 8pm tonight.
