Labor Day Events Around St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - It's Labor Day and there's a lot to do across the St. Louis area.  The Helmet Hustle gets underway at 9:00 a.m. in Benton Park in South St. Louis.  It'[s a two or 20 mile bike ride depending on which you want to take part in.

It's all about preventing brain injuries in children and a strong reminder to wear your helmet when you ride your bike.

If you are looking for a parade there are quite a few Labor Day parade across the area.  Thousands of union members will march through Downtown St. Louis. It begins a 9:00 a.m.

An hour later in Granite City, there will be a parade and a picnic for union members. At the same time, the Southwestern Illinois Central Labor Councils annual parade gets underway in Belleville. A picnic for union members and their families follow that.
