ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) - The calendar may read August but Sunday's mass at Saints Mary and Joseph of Carondelet had the feel and the excitement of a Christmas holiday. A present waiting to opened for more than 80 years. When the old parish school was torn down workers discovered a time capsule in the corner stone.
The Congregation watched and wondered what could be in the box. There was money, but only a dime. An eighty year wait for a couple of newspapers and a few trinket and no one seemed disappointed that the present from the past.
It wasn't exactly full of riches. But then again its not the gift but the thought that counts.
