ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) - I don't know why but it sure feels to me like we've had some pretty tragic crimes this year committed by thugs with guns.

We need to do something about it before anyone else is killed and our region starts to look like this.

There are alot of urban leaders who want bans on certain types of guns but that gets the dander up on anyone who owns a gun and is not committing crimes.

So it's time for gun enthusiasts and gun haters to find common ground.

Here's where the two sides can find agreement.

They can lobby lawmakers to toughen penalties for gun related crimes and they could team up to track down all the illegal guns floating around St. Louis right now.

The two sides will never agree on whether the gun or the person pulling the trigger is the real problem.

But they can still agree to help solve a problem that's real.

I'm JB and that's the way it oughta be.
