WARRENTON, MO (KPLR)- An Autopsy is planned for Monday in the death of a 22-year-old St. Charles County man. The body of Andrew Ell was found near a creek just off Interstate 70 on the outer road in Warren County.  That road was still closed Monday morning as investigators guarded the crime scene.

The Major Case Squad was activated in Warrenton, Mo to investigate Ell’s.  Family members conducted a search for Ell on Sunday and found his body along an Interstate 70 outer road.

The Warrenton police chief called Ell’s death suspicious.  Family members told police that Ell was at the Warrenton Jack in the Box late on Friday night or early Saturday morning.  They said Ell had been out drinking with friends and stopped to use the restroom.  He never re-connected with his friends.

Police spent most of Sunday afternoon searching the wooded area for any other evidence before removing Ell’s body.  His parents were among family members at the scene waiting for any answers for what might have caused their son’s death. Ell’s father said police had told him they were treating his son’s death as a homicide but as of early Sunday evening police would only say the death was suspicious.
