Trash Hauler Forced to Dump Burning Trash on Highway

(KPLR) -  Crews had to shut down two northbound lanes of lanes of Interstate 55 early Thursday morning because of burning trash.  Fire crews responded around 4:30 a.m. on I-55 near Delor after a trash truck dump its load because the trash caught fire.

Crews shut down the highway while they tried to get the fire under control. Crews had to pick through the trash to make sure the fire was out. The highway was closed for about two hours.
