Several Megabus Crash Victims Recovering in St. Louis Hospitals

(KPLR) - A 24-year-old man remains hospitalized at Saint Louis University hospital after being airlifted from the Megabus crash scene near Litchfield, Illinois Thursday.  Five other crash victims were brought to St. Louis including two children -- a 7 and 11-year-old were brought to St. Louis Children's Hospital Thursday night with multiple fractures.

Two adults were taken to Barnes-Jewish Hospital and are listed in serious and fair condition.

The double-decker Megabus was heading from Chicago to St. Louis when investigators say a tire blew out causing the bus to crash into a concrete bridge support on Interstate 55 just north of Litchfield, IL.

Numerous ambulances and medical helicopters responded to the scene. Illinois State Police identified the woman who was killed in the crash as Aditi Avhad, 25, from India. We are told she was a Mizzou student.

The accident victim at SLU was brought in with multiple fractures.  Nine victims were taken to Carlinville, Il and treated for non-life threatening injuries. As many as 25 people were taken to various hospitals.
