McGraw – Chick-Fil-A Controversy Reaches A Boiling Point

ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) - Chick-Fil-A has never been in the news more than right now.  The executive's comments about gay marriage has people on both sides of the issues charged.

Wednesday afternoon was filled with supporters and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, declared Wednesday National "Chick Fil-A Appreciation Day".

Gay rights groups have called for boycotss and efforts to block the chain from opening new stores.  Opponents of the company's stance are encouraging people of the same sex to show up at Chick-Fil-A restaurants around the country on Friday and kiss each other. They are calling the day, "Kiss Mor Chicks"

The national backlash against CEO Cathy`s comments is far more widespread. The company felt compelled to release a facebook statement affirming that Chick-Fil-A policy is to, "treat every person with honor, dignity and respect - regardless of their belief, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender." Various franchise owners have been using the same statement.
