EDWARDSVILLE, IL (KPLR) - Two weeks before school is suppose to begin, teachers in Edwardsville reject the district's contract offer and authorize a 10-day strike notice. This come as the district is trying to deal with budget problems created, in part, by the State of Illinois' financial crisis.
The co-president of the Teacher's Union says the biggest issue for them is class size. But the district says it is putting its best offer on the table during tough economic times. The Edwardsville Education Association voted to reject the district's offer Wednesday night.
