This nine lifer was named one of the top ten excellent bookstore cats by Mental Floss. Now, author Emily Giffens has included him in her new book, "Where We Belong."
"In that book a couple of teenagers are coming on a date in the Central West End and they wind up in our bookstore where they spend two pages talking to Spike." said Danielle Borsch of Left Bank Books.
He's described as the world's most literary feline. This book is the first for this cat. But definitely not the last.
"He's in another book that's non-fiction that's coming out this October, it's called The Little Bookstore at Big Stone Gap. And a couple of book store owners were touring the country and they also visited our store and they were very happy to find Spike." said Danielle Borsch.
Spike is the third cat for Left Bank Books, following in the four legged footsteps of Captain Nemo and Jamaica. But he's the top cat.
"He owns the store. He's got a little bit of an arrogance and he knows that everyone loves him and that this place is his." said Danielle Borsch.
after all, he has the top kitty crown. And that's one well read black cat.
