(CNN) — Ricki Lake is ready for her close-up again. Well, almost.  The actress and longtime talk show host says she’d like to be a bit more svelte when she goes before the cameras again for her new daytime talk program in September.

“I hope to be the incredible shrinking woman on the first season of ‘The Ricki Lake Show!’ ” she recently told People magazine.

“I’d like to lose 10 pounds — just like everyone,” the newly re-married personality said, adding that she’s currently between a size 6 and 8. “I’m not fat, and I’m not a size 4 … I’m constantly working every day not to beat myself up for it.”

The former “Dancing With the Stars” competitor says that staying trim without logging as many hours of activity each day is difficult.

“I’m definitely not in as good a shape as I was on ‘Dancing with the Stars,'” she admitted. “Part of me gets mad at myself that I didn’t keep it up — but it’s impossible. I’m not dancing for seven hours a day anymore. I can’t maintain that.”

But, she adds, “I have the mindset and, God knows, I have the willpower, because I’ve done it before.”

We’re guessing Lake’s efforts to keep fit will be one of the topics covered on “The Ricki Lake Show,” which premiers September 10.
