EDWARDSVILLE, IL. (KPLR) - A metro east cemetery has gone bankrupt.  Fox 2's wade smith has more on how the community is determined to make sure the loved ones buried there get the respect they deserve.

Most people who drive by the valley view cemetery have no idea that there is trouble in this part of Eden.

And that's the way jack miner likes it.

Maybe it was another casualty of the bad economy when owners of this cemetery simply walked away, leaving the 44 acre site and the souls waiting for a solution.

Family friends and caring neighbors have become groundskeepers here.  All volunteering to honor the memories of those buried here.

For now valley view continues on.  They hope someday the cemetery will have a new owner.
Until that happens, valley view will depend on volunteers and donations.
