Police: Man Disguised As Woman Robs St. Charles Bank

ST. CHARLES, MO (KPLR) – Police say DeAndre A. Wilkes, 33 dressed as a woman robbed the Commerce Bank in St. Charles on Wednesday.  The bank on First Capitol Drive as robbed at around 10am on Wednesday morning.  The suspect took off with an undisclosed amount of cash.  

Someone reported suspicious activity in a van in the area just before the bank was robbed.  Police stopped the a van matching the description on I-70.  Investigators determined that the driver was the suspect in the bank robbery.  He was also identified by bank employees as the robber.

The investigation is on-going.  Investigators believe the suspect was going to also rob the PNC bank also located on Capitol drive.  But, he aborted the robbery for some reason.  

He has been charged with 1st degree robbery and is being held at the St. Charles County Jail on $200,000 bond.
