ELSBERRY, MO (KPLR)-- A Lincoln County neighborhood is in its second week without running water and finding a solution is proving to be difficult.

The private well that supplied water to 25 homes in Lakeview Estates subdivision "dried up" ten days ago.

Boonslick Regional Planning Commission is using a $500,000 grant to connect the subdivision to water from the city of Elsberry on a permanent basis. But that's four to six months away.

In the meantime the well's owner is working with neighborhood leaders to find a temporary solution.

Everyone hopes the well is repaired soon, but how to fix it is the question. The work will probably have to be approved by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and paid for by homeowners.
