ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) - Get ready to see more police and firefighters in Illinois-looking not for your vote, but for your contribution.   Under a new Illinois law, public safety officials can't be denied permits to collect donations from drivers along roadsides. 

Illinois firefighters called for the legislation after some communities started banning roadside collections due to safety hazards.
