St. Louis Woman Sells Over $600,000 In Counterfeit Purses Online
ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR)– A St. Louis woman has confessed to police that she sold hundreds of thousands of dollars in fake purses to customers.
Police say 34-year-old Jeannine Buford has been selling the bags since about 2006.
Federal investigators working on a six-month sting say Buford also sold more than $600,000 worth of bogus “Hermes” handbags from China on the web from 2010- 2011.
Investigators have found 99 victims, so far and expect to find more.
One victim claims she bought over $100,000 in fake merchandise.
Buford pleaded guilty to one felony count of trafficking in counterfeit goods.
As part of her plea, she has agreed to the forfeiture of a Chevrolet Camaro, a Porsche Cayenne, $5738 cash, and numerous designer handbags.
Investigators are urging anyone who may have bought merchandise on Deluxemall.com, Houseofhermes.blogspot.com or Haut-exclusives.com to give them a call.
