One Killed, One Critically Wounded in South City Shooting

ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) – One man is dead and another hurt after a shooting early this morning in south city. Right now the search is one for a killer. The shots rang out around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday morning in an alley near the back of a home on Montana near Grand Boulevard.

Two men were found shot.

Police say 46-year-old William Yarbrough, Sr. was shot in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

We`re told a 35-year-old man was shot in the face, hand, chest and was rushed to a hospital.  He is listed in critical condition.

Witnesses told police that the 35 year old initially indicated that he had been shot by someone he knew. But investigators were not able to get further details from him because he went into surgery.

Police say they are looking for a possible suspect although don`t have a detailed description.

Authorities don`t know what sparked the violence.
