NEW YORK, NY. (KPLR) -  Wisconsin republican Governor Scott Walker fights back an attempt to kick him out of office and Immediately conservatives claim that the world has forever changed and liberals pretend it is no big deal And as always the truth lies somewhere in between.

It did hurt the labor movement; Governor Walker attacked the Golden Calf of public unions collective

bargaining and the national labor movement went after Walker with everything in its arsenal and lost.  It showed that the movement has lost power.  Governors and mayors across the country are now emboldened to take on their unions.

It did not turn Wisconsin from a blue state to a red state.

Even though the Republicans won, polls show most of those who voted still plan on voting for Barack Obama in November, although the race in Wisconsin has narrowed and republicans in the state are now energized.

It did make Scott Walker a star in the Republican Party but not necessarily a national star or a Presidential contender.  Yes, everyone now knows his name and Republicans love him but He is the devil to many Democrats and Independents, he is more Sarah Palin than Ronald Reagan.

Finally we got a taste of the kind of money that is going to be spent on the 2012 Presidential campaign, almost thirty million was spent in Wisconsin in this recall election and republicans outspend democrats 7 to 1.

Billions will be spent between now and November and if you think the Wisconsin race was ugly, you haven't seen anything yet.
