Beastie Boys’ Adam Yauch Dies From Cancer

ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR)- 47-year-old Adam Yauch (MCA) of the Beastie Boys has lost his battle with cancer.  He was diagnosed with cancer of a salivary gland in 2009.  According to TMZ he died after treatment for a tumor.

Yauch founded the Beastie Boys with Mike Diamond and Adam Horowitz in 1979. The group went on to make hip-hop history.  He was instrumental in the Beastie Boys Albums, License to Ill, Paul’s Boutique, Check Your Head and Ill Communication.

The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year.
