EDWARDSVILLE, IL (KPLR)-- A Metro East toddler remains hospitalized after falling in a pond near a home in Edwardsville.  The Edwardsville Fire Department says they were called for a possible drowning just after 3 p.m. Wednesday on the north side of Edwardsville at Indian Hills and Cherokee Trail.

The grandmother noticed her grandsons were missing and called 911. Stephen Kern, 15, found the boys. One was out of the water but the other in it face up, but lifeless.

The boy in the water was rushed to a local hospital, then airlifted to St. Louis critical condition.  The other boy was okay, but taken to a hospital as a precaution.
