NEW YORK, NY (CNN) – You can add “journalist” to Beyonce’s long list of accomplishments.

The National Association of Black Journalists announced it’s giving Beyonce Knowles a writing award later this month.

It’s for an article she penned for Essence magazine last year.

In the article, called “Eat, Play, Love,” the singer described her nine-month break from the music business in 2010.

Just last month, Beyonce was crowned People magazine’s World’s Most Beautiful Woman for 2012.

She’ll receive the NABJ award at a May 15th event in New York.
