NEW JERSEY, (CNN) - A New Jersey mom is facing charges of child endangerment for allegedly taking her 5-year-old daughter into a tanning booth in violation of state law.  Patricia Krentcil pleaded not guilty Wednesday morning.  Her lawyer says Krentcil's daughter never entered the tanning booth during their visit to the salon and that the daughter was sunburned from being outside on a warm day.

New Jersey state law prohibits anyone under 14 from using tanning salons.
