ELLISVILLE, MO (KTVI) -In Ellisville, Missouri a crowd too big to fit in city hall is expected at the elementary school Wednesday night to discuss controversial tax breaks for the building of a Walmart.

The last meeting in April was so large, the Fire Marshall had to turn people away.

Some residents and small business owners are worried they will be displaced if the city builds a new Walmart at Manchester and Clarkson.  Those residents join the St. Louis County TIF Commission in opposing the project.

But, some Ellisville officials said they need an anchor store like Walmart to bring much-needed tax revenue.  They granted initial approval of the plan.
