(KPLR) -Around 4:00pm Saturday, there were reports of funnel clouds in St. Clair County but no tornado "touch-downs".  Hail and high winds left their marks in O’Fallon, IL.  One man was actually driving, headed home from downtown, when hail smashed his rear windshield.

In northwest St. Louis County, "monster-sized” hail crashed through building windows and car windshields by the dozens around 6:00pm. Maryland Heights, including Westport Plaza, really got walloped.  A McDonald’s worker is being called a hero because she huddled everyone in the cooler of the restaurant as the storms rolled overhead.
