ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) - Investigators are searching for whoever threw a Molotov cocktail at a federal building downtown.  It happened early this morning at the Robert A Young federal building on Spruce.

Authorities are treating the case as an investigation into a terrorist threat.

The building houses many federal agencies including the Department of Homeland Security and the IRS.

There are a couple of burn marks that are easily visible.  There were also some glass fragments on the ground.  The device did minor damage to the building.

This all took place a little after one this morning.

Investigators say one suspect threw a Molotov cocktail at the building.

There are no reports of any injuries.

Authorities are looking for a gray Chevrolet Camaro possibly late 90`s with a partial Illinois license plate of 'N-5-0.'

At this point there is very little information about the suspect, other than it was one man.
We’re told a security officer here did chase the suspect on foot but he got away.  Security officers at the building say the suspect looked right at them during the incident.

Investigators are reviewing surveillance video to see if it could prove helpful in the investigation.
