NEWARK, NJ (CNN) - Earlier this month, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie was accused of catching some Z's during the Bruce Springsteen concert at Madison Square Garden.

But Christie, who is a huge fan of The Boss, says that during the song "Rocky Ground" he closed his eyes to listen to the quote- "spiritual" song.

"People sat. So I sat up on the seat. And I put my head back and closed my eyes and listened to the song. When I was fist-pumping during 'Badlands,' nobody... You know I'm glad nobody took pictures of that." said Gov. Christie.

While addressing the sleeping accusations, Christie made another gaffe.
He said his wife didn't attend the concert that night.

But she quickly piped up and said she was actually there.
