DOWNTOWN ST. LOUIS, MO. (KPLR) - I know this building is so much nicer than the old barn but I can't help but think about how many of our great hockey memories in St. Louis came from somewhere else.

The old Barn is what we called the old Arena on Oakland Avenue.  It had a one of a kind look and what a location.  Right near the heart of Forest Park and a neighborhood known for its blue collar ways.

The Monday night miracle, the double overtime series ending Mike Crombeen Goal and the Curtis Joseph pummeling of Tim Cheveldae all took place at the old Arena.

I hope the 2012 playoffs give us some new memories that will last as long as the old ones have.

I can't imagine topping some of the great memories from the old barn but here's hoping this building will bring the Blues some new success.

I'm JB and that's The Way It Oughta Be.
