ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - It`s the day St. Louis Blues fans have been waiting for!
The Note will open its playoff series tonight against the San Jose Sharks at the Scottrade Center.
The puck drops at 6:30pm.
The Blues are hoping history is on their side-- the team`s last playoff win was against the Sharks at Scottrade eight years ago today.
Tonight will be the Blues first playoff game in three years.
The Blues haven`t won a playoff series in a decade.
The Blues are coming off a spectacular regular season that got them the number two seed for the playoffs.
Now many are hoping that same team will show up for the second season.
Yaroslav Halak will get the start tonight in goal.
The pre-game fun starts with a block party at three this afternoon on Washington Avenue at 14th street.
That will feature food, drinks, live music, Blues mascot Louie and some children`s activities.
The party then moves to the front of the Scottrade center where a pep rally starts around four.
There will be more music from the band Paint the Earth and the rally will feature Blues alumni including hall of famer Bernie Federko.
